Excellent Oral Health Starts With You!
Did you know that exercise and a healthy diet can keep your teeth and gums disease free? In an article published in the Journal of the American Dental Association, researchers concluded that heart healthy behaviors including exercise and eating a nutritious diet not only build the body’s defenses against disease but also reduce the production of plaque biofilm – a major factor in the development of tooth decay.
Researchers went on the say “[since] oral health professionals may see their patients two or four times a year, it gives them several opportunities to promote these healthy behaviors.”
At Sporting Smiles Pediatric Dentistry & Family Orthodontics, we focus on a total body wellness approach to children’s dental health. Our motto is ‘Healthy Smiles for Active Lifestyles’ and we aim to establish healthy habits early by helping our patients make smart dietary choices and teaching them how to protect their teeth during sports and other recreational activities.
Eat Smart. Play Hard. Protect Your Teeth!
