Dr. Gunita Pahwa Kalra, DDS
Dr. Gunita Pahwa Kalra is originally from New York, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Adelphi University before pursuing her dental degree at New York University. She further expanded her clinical experience by completing a residency at Jamaica Hospital, a Level I trauma center. Since joining our practice in May 2023, Dr. Kalra has brought her experience, compassion and dedication to providing exceptional dental care for children and their families.
Passionate about pediatric dentistry, Dr. Kalra loves helping children feel comfortable and confident during their dental visits. Her natural ability to connect with young patients creates an environment of trust and comfort, helping make each child's dental experience a positive one. With years of focused experience in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Kalra is dedicated to providing personalized care tailored to each child's individual needs.
Outside of the office, Dr. Kalra has two young children and understands firsthand the importance of finding a dental provider families can trust. As both a dentist and a parent, she strives to treat every child with the same patience, care, and understanding she would want for her own children. Dr. Kalra is proud to call Gainesville home and loves being part of the local community. You may even spot her around town at her children's extracurricular activities or while picking up groceries! In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, crafts, and spending time with her family. She looks forward to meeting you and your children—both in the office and around the community!
Sporting Smiles has taken measures above and beyond the minimum expectations to ensure the safety of all staff members , as well as every patient. I realized any concerns I had of making appointments during the current COVID situation were unfounded as soon as the protocol and preventative measures were explained to me. The doctors are also top notch, extremely professional, and you can tell this is more than “just a job” for them. They truly care about their patients, I would recommend this practice without hesitation!
